The GMC 8V-53 blower was built by GMC for their Detroit 53 series diesel V style engines. The 8V-53 has a 15 inch rotor length with 3 lobe 30 degree helix cut. This differs from the other 53 series which use 2 lobe straight cut rotors. As with other’s in this series, they run at higher RPM than their counterparts.
