About: Eaton has been offering superchargers since 1985 with their release of the M-Series roots type blower. As of April 2017 they are up to their six generation of blower design. Eaton does not sell or produce units or kits for the general public. The supercharger units they produce are for OEM applications only. For aftermarket units and kits Eaton provides their partners, Magnuson, Edelbrock, Harrop and ROUSH, with the internal components: the rotors, bearings, gears and seals. Their partners design and develop their own housings and additions as required. Prices on Eaton superchargers and kits depend on the partners selling them.

First to Fifth Generation – The M-Series

Or Gen 1 to Gen 5. The first five generations were the M Series. These superchargers have three lobe rotors with 60 degree twists. Units in this series include the M45, M62, M90 and M112.

Sixth Generation – The TVS (Twin Vortices Series®) R-Series and V-Series

The TVS R-Series drastically changed the rotor design by moving to a four lobe rotor with 160 degree twist. Later the TVS R2650 was released and had the four lobes but with more twist in them reaching a 170 degree total. The V-Series (volumetric series) continues with a three lobe design and targets small engine efficiency. This design allows for improved low speed volumetric and thermal efficiences over the R-Series. In 2015 Eaton announced the TVS2 which seems to still be a sixth generation supercharger that is focusing on efficiency and better coupling with other technologies such as a turbo. The TVS2 is lighter, runs at a higher max rpm and is reported to offer a 10 to 16 percent improvement in isentropic efficiency (in the targeted operating zones) over the TVS® R410.
