Supercharger: 6V-71

The GMC 6V-71 roots blower was developed for the Detroit V6 diesel engine as opposed to the 6-71 model which was for an inline engine. As with the 6-71 the 6V-71 is designed with two 3 lobe rotors that have a 30 degree helix. Starting out on commercial trucks and vehicles they were later modified and then rebuilt, redeveloped and copied for strip, marine and then street use.
